Any ways, with a craving for a little adventure we hopped in the car to see where the road would take us. We drove past paradise where the pavement turned into dirt and kept going. We ended just before this small dirt road hooks up to the Ogden canyon, I know crazy, and then because of our growling tummies decided to turn around. We had dinner at one of the best Mexican restaurants, La Tormenta (a little restaurant that really makes you feel like you are in Mexico), and then headed over to Sam's Club to stock up on some pumpkins, which was actually quite entertaining. For some reason, whenever I go into Sam's I feel like I am five again and have this strange urge to run around the store, look and see everything, and do cartwheels down the candy isle. Don't ask why, because I couldn't tell you. Any who, after that we headed back to our house, put on Hocus Pocus and started carving. Ashton decided to tackle his pumpkin using, of course, power tools, which cut his carving time in half. Ashton finished his pumpkin first so he got out a bag of frozen strawberries and a couple other things and made everyone VIRGIN strawberry daiquiris, which were AMAZING (I know, my husbands cool). As we gutted our pumpkins, we baked up some seeds for a snack on the side, more yummy goodness. Any who a couple of hours later this is what we have...

Pumpkins
Saturday, Ashton, myself and our cool neighbors, decided to take a little trip to the only pumpkin farm/patch in Logan (PS Lame that their is only one) to acquire some yummy apple cider and pumpkins of course. By the way, I was looking forward to this all week. We pull up to the place, which looked unusually vacant, and could see some people standing by their car looking at us funny. That should have been our cue, but we get out of the car ready for a fun day. About a minute later this guy comes out of the barn, asking if he could help us. Come to find out the place was already closed, lame:( He said they had sold out of apples and pumpkins. I was pretty bummed, I hate skipping out on important things like this, I guess I need to get more on the ball if I am going to carry out Meaker tradition in my own family.
Happy Birthday Tarah
Tarah. Happy Happy Birthday:) We love you so much.
So on Friday, the fam got together and surprised Tarah at Black Stone for a very fun and loud birthday dinner, complete with singing and cake. After filling our bellies to their delight, we decided to head over to the Pumpkin Walk (for all of you not from Logan, it's basically a bunch of different scenes that people set up using pumpkins) to see what this year had to offer, which would, guarantee more laughs from our bunch. It was a really fun evening. I am so lucky that I am so close to my sisters and get to regularly engage in total randomness with them. Love you guys.
Okay, whoever knows me understands my obsession with the little mermaid. I made Ashton take this picture for me, and oh yeah he was totally singing the Little Mermaid theme song so everyone could hear. He is such a good sport.

Make Your Voice Heard...In California!!!
Does it bother you when you're working on a GROUP presentation and come to a consensus, by most popular vote, and then one person , who thinks they know best, turns around and does the opposite? Well... Wake up Call!!! On a much much much larger scale that is going on in California, the place where I attribute the majority of my childhood memories. Basically a couple of snoody judges who think they know what's best for me and you better than we ourselves do, decided that they would ignore our voices, take away our choices, and undermine our trust. The Supreme Court has largely overstepped it's boundaries, and I am asking, what are you going to do about it? We cannot allow such injustices, even one, to slip through the cracks. We must reform, we must reestablish our ground, we must ensure that this country is lead by the people.PS: To all of you who think that just because this happened in California it doesn't effect you, are wrong. It does, in the long run. Think of it this way...You tell your teenager that curfew is ten, she or he arrives home at ten thirty. What do you do? Nothing. What happens the next night? She/he comes home at eleven. The next night? Twelve... you get the picture. Lets nip this in the bud. Stand up and make your voice heard, explain the importance of voting YES on Proposition 8 to everyone you know who lives in California.

Ignorance...
This make me furious...
I don't understand why people are so ignorant. I mean really, doesn't it bother them that they don't even have their own facts straight. Wouldn't they want to know who and what they are voting for?

My favorite time of year.
For my entire life I have always loved fall. It comes at just the right time bringing with it a beautiful color scheme. Chocolate browns, sun tan yellows, bright orange, deep crimson red, maroon, and the list goes on.
I love the way the fallen leaves swim on the road with every passing car,
The colorful autumn skies,
The warmth of chimney's coming out of hibernation,
The little bit of chill in the air that makes you pull out all of last years scarves and search the web for new ones,
I love the smell of pumpkin spice and cinnamon candles,
Pumpkin Pie and whipped cream,
Making Halloween costumes,
Overall, I love fall because it means wonderful things are coming, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years!!!

Park City Book Club
At the end of the day what to we have? Tired girls with too many bags.
Taking a break.
At Bajio.
Primping in the hotel.
Cute mamma.
Primping in the hotel.
Tracey and Shannon

Last weekend, as many of the members as we could get got together for the annual book club meeting in Park City. It was an absolute blast. We first checked into our hotel, the Marriott, and then went to the down town part of Park City to find a cool and yummy restaurant to eat at (and we did). Right after satisfying our hunger, we stopped by one of the best candy stores ever to satisfy our sweet tooth with Carmel apples. Just when we decided that we had had enough of the freezing wind we headed back to our hotel to warm up in the hot tub and pool. Everyone was ready for PJ's and a movie after that, so we bought Mama Mia from the hotel TV and all piled on the beds, with Carmel apples in hand, to watch the show. Can I say amazing!!! It was hilarious and so fun to watch with all of the gals. By the end of the show we were all dancing around the room and jumpin on beds (I'm surprised no one complained, we weren't too loud but it was 2 o'clock in the morning:). The next morning Cori and I got a quick jog in while we were waiting for our room service breakfast to come. We checked out a couple hours later and spent the rest of the day, till about 5ish pm at the outlets. Just before heading home we stopped by Bajio for some yummy food. It was an amazing weekend, so much fun. My only hope is that next year more people can make it and join in on the fun...the more the merrier:)

Cool Mom and New Hair!!!
I am totally spoiled. Not only do have the most awesome mom, but she has been cutting my hair for me since I was a little girl. She does an amazing job and always knows what will look good with my face. Tonight I went over to mom's house so she could help me figure out what to do with my hair now. About an hour later I have a new hair cut that I love. Thanks mom, you are totally awesome.
Conference and Fishing??? Yep:)
Friday when I got off work at three I walked through the door and Ashton had just gotten back from school and had this great idea. "Wanna' go to Island Park" with a big mischievous grin on his face was just about the first thing I heard. So about 20 minutes later with two duffel bags filled with gear, jeans, and sweatshirts, we jumped in the car and drove up to island park for conference weekend to, of course, listen to conference, fish, and just be in the wilderness. It was wonderful. I am still amazed at the amazing sleep I get up their. I think I could sleep all day it is so peaceful, but of course I never do. Here are some fabulous pictures from the weekend.
What a solder, fishing with a cast...I told you he was hard core.
Me absolutely freezing and loving it
I love this man.
I love fall.
Ashton took this picture. The trees literally looked like they were on fire next to the tall pines.
My silly cute husband, best friend, and absolute love of my life.
Our friends Crystal and Jim came up with us, we were so glad that they decided to join us:)
And this is where we spent the weekend fishing... gorgeous!!! PS: and yes those rocks were incredibly slippery and everyone in are party had fall that day. Luckily we all made it out without any broken bones.
My handsome husband always looks good with his vest and rod.
Dark Cloud Is So Gone!!!
Okay...Ever since the beginning of my marriage I have had this big dark nagging cloud (myself) hanging around, tickling and irritating my every thought. Telling me over and over and over and over... You'r probably wondering what this nagging cloud was telling me? Well it might suprise you but here it is... "learn how to sew." Um yeah, I know, pretty anti climatic, but for some reason I have been so afraid of sewing. Probably because of that one time in young womens when I tried to sew a small quilt pillow and the whole thing turned out crooked. I think ever since then I have just been fearing sewing and therefor trying to run away from it. It worked out okay, the whole running away thing, but when I got married I just couldn't ignore it anymore, it was like someone fliped the switch. I don't really know why, I'm thinking it is kindof similar to the nesting that a women does when she is pregnant. So how does that sound, sewing because I am married, I don't know. Weird rational. But what I noticed is that my fear just kept growing and nagging at me the longer I tried to compress the idea to pull out the sewing machine. So when the dark cloud finally got so overwhelming that I knew I couldn't take it anymore, this is what I did.
