Wallah...The finished product

Wallah...The finished product. It was so fun doing Heathers hair. I love having sisters that I get to primp with, plus Heather is just gorgeous and so fun to dress up. I personally think she looks like a princess. But don't take my word for it, see for yourself. Such a cutie.
Model.
Sun fairy.I love you pookie.

Oh yeah... Take a look at her beautiful hair. It was so fun and totally stress free, Heather is awesome.

Gotta Love Saturdays

I absolutely love Saturdays. Sleeping in, or waking up early, deciding last min to take a hike up the canyon, the house, playing with your husband all day, working out as long as you want, throwing your hair in a wet bun or taking a couple hours to try something new. Saturdays are just wonderful days, almost as good as Sundays:) Well today was one of those wonderful Saturdays. Ashton and I slept in, and had yummy pancakes and eggs for breakfast. We had decided earlier last week that we would go into our jobs on campus for a couple hours on Saturday so we resentfully got ready and just as we were about to go out the door, Ashton had the idea to take me up the canyon to Porky Pine reservoir to see the jumping Kokanee Salmon. I have always wanted to see the Salmon jump as they make their way up the river to spawn, and Ashton knew that they would be up the canyon today, so we took a detour and headed up the canyon. It was absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like it. Plus the drive was absolutely gorgeous. I can't believe how lucky I am to live in such a truly beautiful place. After that I went to mom and dad's to help Heather get ready for her dance, she asked me to do her hair, which I was really excited about. I will post pictures of gorgeous pookie next. After that, I hit the gym and ran home to make some dinner for my studying husband. Because his hand surgery falls on the same day as his test, Monday, his teacher told him he had to come in on Sunday(and yeah, right during church) to take the test. Lucky him. A couple tuna fish sandwiches and veggies later we headed up to campus to get a couple hours of work done. After work we headed home and now hear we sit enjoying a little cable and Internet time. I love being with Ashton, even if we are doing totally different things, I just enjoy being around him. Oh yeah, gotta love Saturdays.Kokanee salmon are really pretty fish. Starting with black on their bellies and mouths and then slowly fading to bright bright orange on their sides and backs. In this picture you can see 5, but if you look very very closely their are actually 7. Two more.
Some of the amazing scenery. If you look behind us you can see the shore line of the reservoir in the spring is quite a bit higher than where it is right now.
This picture didn't really turn out how we wanted. The stream, that is a full on river in the spring, was loaded with Salmon. If you enlarge the picture and can see orange spots then you'll know it's the Kokanees.

I love, love, love fall.
It really is my absolute favorite time of year.
I know I'm pretty darn lucky.
More fish.
Ashton saw this little guy making his way up a little mini waterfall(cascading rocks with water flowing over them) and take a wrong turn which put him at a dead end so Ashton hopped over to a rock in the river and picked the little guy up to help him along his way. It was pretty cool.
I'm so glad I have a husband who is just as excited about little things like seeing the Kokanees Salmon jump as I am. Love you hunny, and can't wait to see the rest of the world with you.

All future Mothers and Fathers READ!!!

Sorry Cori, I am stealing this from you.

So for all of you who know my sister, you know that she is an amazing writer and has a beautiful thought process that seems to turn ideas into Gold. She can always say exactly what's going through my mind (but better), and knows how to express what so many of us think but wouldn't know how to tell. I was reading her blog and came across a passage that I really love and think all men and women need to hear, so here it is...
"Mothers, fathers, have you thought about the power you have over your children? What are their strengths? Do you tell them? Tell them what you know they are, what you know they can be, and they will become it. I love my daughter's hair color. It's beautiful and in the sun, she has the most beautiful highlights. I brought her outside to take a picture of her hair in the sun. Then I told her how beautiful her hair is. She smiled."

Out of Commission

Just got back from the ER having fun with Amanda and Eddie.
Me and Ashton taking a family picture.
Out of commission:( Last Saturday Ashton and I went down to Brigham city to help his bother lay pipe. By the way, the pipe was like a foot in diameter and the length of two big back yards. We spent the morning digging the knee-high trenches, and then started with the joints. His brother got the pipe for free but we didn't have the materials to make the "normal" joints, so we had to finesse it a little with tar, extra pipe and metal wires with holes in them. So we fasten the first one, then the second, then I had to leave to get some things ready for a family party. I showered, dressed, ran to the grocery store for a side dish, and arrived at my in laws house just in time. When I walked through the door the first thing I heard was, "did Ashton call you, did you hear?" I had a puzzled look on my face so Charlotte, my mother in law, continued to tell me that Ashton went to the ER, because he cute his hand pretty bad. Great, I was with him all day and I leave for a couple of minutes and look what happened. I started freaking out. So I call him and I guess he cut his thumb and by doing so cut the extender tendon in his thumb in half. Yep in half, and on his left hand(ps he is left handed). I was a little frustrated that he didn't call me right away, but he assured me it wasn't a big deal and didn't want to make it a big deal, or make me worry. Ummm... pretty sure he achieved the exact opposite. So later when we were talking about the whole ordeal he fessed up and told me what he really thought. These were his exact words, "I feel stupid. Why couldn't it have been something cool, like my whole hand?" Yeah, I know. My husband is crazy, but I love him and hope all of my little boys someday have his same attitude. He goes in for surgery this Monday so hopefully they can fix everything up for him. At least for the next six weeks he'll be giving a permanent thumbs up.

Home projects

Being done with school frees up a lot of home time, well kind of. That is, if your not working all the time, which I have a tendency to do:) Any ways, for a while I have wanted to build a shelf and well... I finished it. About a month ago I decided that I wanted to build a shelf, from scratch. Yep, that's right, design, find the wood, cut the wood, nail, sand, and paint a shelf all by myself. So I finally finished and put it up in our office and it makes such a huge difference in there. We, me and Ashton, both love it. It is kind of a modern design to match the cheep office furniture that we have in their. We were hoping that if we put a nice modern piece in there and spray paint the old furniture black that maybe, just maybe, our office would look like it had a rhyme or reason to it. Well, goal achieved.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend, Ashton and I got to head up to Bear Lake with Mom, Dad and Matt, and Cori and Craig. It was so fun!!! We stayed at the cutest bed and breakfast called the Blue Bird Inn just above the Idaho border. The weekend was perfect. Saturday and most of Sunday the weather was amazing and beautiful. We went hiking, played soccer on the beach, sat in the hot tub, did a little fishing, sneaked into a closed model home, played catch, all piled around a lap top to watch Batman Begins, had the loudest and most hilarious family night ever (equipped with pizza, milk shakes, and Janga), Ashton and I stayed up till 2 watching the office and Harry Potter, had the most delicious breakfasts every morning, and of course got some shopping in. The rest of Sunday and all of Monday a huge storm blew in which, was actually really fun to experience. Tree limbs were falling down(right were we had previously parked our cars), people were be lifted up (at one point the wind almost blew Ashton off the balcony), and the rain was horizontal for most of the day. It was a really fun weekend. Thanks Mom and Dad for the B & B room.Part of the amazing garden at the B&B. Cori we finally found a bridge our size:)
PS: I was freezing in this picture, if you can't tell.

Big Albino Trout

Every day, for about a month and a half, Ashton went to the same spot to try and catch this big albino white trout, but all to no avail. The fish just wasn't interested, so after a very unsuccessful day of fishing up various canyons and on different rivers Ashton and I visited this all too well know spot. As I walked up I could see the trout wading in the water just under the bridge. So without hesitation I slowly walked forward and casted right in front of him and began reeling in. Saying that we were all surprised when the fish took hold of my lure is an understatement to say the least. I was so excited I could hardly bring him in. I wish that everyone could have seen the look on Ashton's face, "you've got to be kidding me?" Nope, I got the fish that he had been trying for for a month and a half, and I got him with only one cast. I was very proud of myself for two reasons. First, because I casted so well; and Second, because if any of you know Ashton you know that he is the best fisherman out there and could out fish me any day of the week. At least now their will be one day, recorded in history, that I outfished him!!! Sorry hunny, I had to brag a little:)
